TITLE: RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT PERFORMNACE
Background of study
According to the Project management Body of Knowledge project management is define as "the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements" (2009). The processes that include in managing a project in project management are planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling until the closing of the project so that the requirements of the project will be accomplished.
There are nine knowledge areas in project management which are project integration management, project scope management, project time management, project cost management, project human resources management, project communication management, project risk management and project procurement management. So risk management is one of the important area in project management.
Risk management can be translated as the process of analyzing exposure to risk and determining the best solution to handle the exposure. In risk management there are some activities that involved and the first step involve in risk management is construct risk management plan. According to Sullivan ( 2010) defined risk management as the activities undertaken by an organization to control and minimize threats to the continuing efficiency, profitability and the success of its operation. Risk management plan is one of the important thing that needed in managing a project. Risk management plan is used to identify, evaluate and prioritize a risk of a project. So, risk management plan in project management is create during the planning phase of a project. Creating a risk management plan will help a project manager in the process of analyzing the the exposure to risk and determining the best solution to handle such exposure. Project management performance basically is the overall performance in project handling and the development of the project team career in the future after they had completed a project assigned. Risk management plan must be updated and expanded according to the project life cycle so that all the complexity and possible risk that might occur will clearly define. This study will generally doing to know the link between the important of risk management plan and how it is related to the project management performance.
Problem statement
Risk management basically involved are risk management plan, risk identification, quality risk analysis, quantity risk analysis, risk response plan and risk monitoring and control. For the planning activity in project life cycle the project manager must really understand the scope of the project so that the project will be as the customer specification. The project manager also need to predict the possible risk that might occur during the planning phase. By doing that the project team can came out with the contingency plan that will help as a solution for the problem occur by the risks. So this study is actually to investigate the importance of risk management plan and the effect to project management performance.

The objective of this study is to investigate the important of risk management plan in determining project management performance.

The participant for this study are 50 project managers in different working field.
